I ordered a 2015 S 85D and then sold my 2013 S 85. Then I was supposed to fly down to Vegas to pick the car up this Friday the 17th But hold on here is where it gets good. I get a call from the sales rep late last week saying sorry car was sent to NY by accident. And Tesla being so kind is going to ship it now to MN at no cost.

Dilemma is I have no idea now when the car will be delivered anyone else have this problem? I was told it could be another 2 or more weeks.anyone else order a Used Tesla and have the same issue?

Sent to NY by accident? My apologies, but this is tragically hilarious. Cpo reaches new lows. Maybe Elon handled the shipping himself right after hanging out with Joe Rogan.

I feel for you, but not sure what you can do. Just keep pressuring them a lot to to get this done asap.

When I went to pick up my used 2014 MS, they tried to give me a completely different car at delivery. I had to insist that they check the VIN because it was missing a bunch of options and miraculously became a D. It was quite comical and unnerving at the same time. I'm not surprised...

Well I appreciate all the input and all communications has been via email outside of the call about the car going to NY. I am just hopeful they actually send the right car. This will definitely be my last CPO or used for a while.

Really just semantics, isn't it? Their used inventory still touts a 70-point inspection and warranty coverage.
Yes and no. The problem is when people see "CPO" they have expectations of refurbishment and repair. This is why Tesla expressly discontinued the "CPO" program months ago and you won't find any mention of it anywhere on Tesla.com. It does a disservice when people have expectations of a CPO car that simply aren't there. For the same reason we should stop referring to non-CPO cars as CPO cars because it confuses potential buyers by thinking they're getting more than a used car.

agreed I referenced CPO/Used in the above but they are used which I understand. I guess I was reaching out to the Tesla community to see if anyone else has the same experience with Tesla shipping the car to the wrong place. My sales rep Weng has been very responsive but the system they have in place seems in tatters.

My CPO (back then, it really was) took four weeks to get to me in Virginia from NY/NJ area, but along the way they were kind enough to repaint the front & rear bumpers. It was delivered with a lot of stone chips in the paint on the front hood; I was advised that was "priced in" to the sale price.

True, but I think dont think they've even managed to deliver up to the standard of a Craiglist used car listing either. This thread is further evidence (whether you called it used or CPO you should be able to send the car to the right location - especially when you're charging $2k for the "service").

Of note: Tesla hasn't had a CPO program for some time now. They discontinued it and it's officially a used car program.

This confuses people who think that Tesla sells CPOs which they don't.
You are seriously the CPO vs. Used Car nazi. Not to poke, but I feel like every other post you write is correcting people about this topic. I think we should keep on topic to the O.P.'s questions and concerns. But thank you for all your CPO knowledge clarification.

Using hyperbole to compare me to a Nazi for trying to avoid confusion for others due to improper use of terms is in poor taste. If you can't find a better way to convey your thoughts I suggest returning to school to learn proper use of the English language.

Ostrich...what is the better way?

Suggested "CPO" where the quote marks indicate it is not really.

Shorter and sounds better than "pre-owned sold by Tesla as is"
Simply "Used" or "Tesla Direct Used" or something similar would accomplish both informing those reading where the vehicle in question was sourced as well as preventing newer readers thinking that Tesla is selling CPO cars which they aren't and haven't for nearly half a year.

The reason I keep addressing this is that people insist on continuing to call them CPO which is improper use of the term. If Tesla felt the need strip the term from it's own website entirely (at great effort) to prevent confusion clearly it implies a level of vehicle that they no longer offer.

Continuing to use the term serves only to further confuse the masses who don't know any better. Many of us reading understand what they mean but most do not and those are the people I'm hoping to keep from misinforming.

I'm not picky about what term is used and others have suggested other acronyms in other threads that I'm entirely fine with as long as they're accurate. I by no means have a favorite here I just want to keep confusion to a minimum by not using incorrect terms.

But as well as know, Tesla has improved their CPO program recently with better quality photos and service!

IMHO it is still worthwhile to buy the right car directly from Tesla for peace of mind. They've made a bunch of changes recently to make buying a CPO car more reasonable. I am sure they will take care of the OP and expedite delivery of his CPO car.

OP: I would try and escalate this matter with a manger and get assurance from them that they will arrange to delivery your CPO car as quickly as possible. I am sure they will take good care of you. Just be polite and ask nicely. When you get the car, if the floor mats are in bad shape, perhaps you can ask for a new set of floormats for the trouble.

Tesla CPO FTW forever! May it live on and be more glorious than ever... :p:rolleyes::D

Actually, the improved their CPO program by ending it last year. Shortly after Elon announced they would address customer service they wiped the term "CPO" from their dictionary and I guess assumed this was the fix they desperately needed? *wipes hands together* "problem solved!" ROFL

They kind of improved their used program by adding actual photos. Although those are the same photos you could request previously which they would email you it just cuts out the middle man so.. yeah, I guess you could say it was improved.

You can't buy a CPO car from Tesla. At all.

You may want to consider a used car directly from Tesla though for the same reasons mentioned earlier. Just know that, regardless of what they call the program, buying a used car from Tesla is a dumpster fire and I would approach it very cautiously. Do your research to see what nightmare you're signing up for. It sucks. The car you end up receiving (if you ever get it) will likely be a solid car that you will love but the headache you go through to attain it will be equally bad and most are choosing to avoid Tesla used for this very reason. I did it three times and it's unlikely I will even do it again and I've even warned friends who were in the market for a Tesla. It's too bad Tesla continues doing nothing to remedy this problem but thinks they are.

Update called MN Tesla delivery folks and they were able to track my car and it’s supposed to be delivered next week will update after I get it on the condition ect.

I emailed my delivery specialist and gave them a piece of my mind on the new delivery process and that it sucks. I also offered to talk with a manager doubt I will get a call but I wanted them to at least know they need to do a much better job of updating buyers on where that heck their cars are at.
