Has anyone experienced this? I’m in California it is hot like hell. I left my car parked outside while at work and I get in to leave and the top glass is cracked in the middle from the from to the middle..

my husband checked.. I remember a rock hitting my car on the freeway.. didn’t think it hit the top.. guess it did, but hadn’t realized it broke the glass. I have an appt with Tesla next week. I called my insurance they only want to cover $535 I have to pay the rest out of pocket.. which I think isn’t fair due to the top glass of the car being part of the cars structure. They wanted to send savage lite to patch my glass I said No!!! Any advice?
My insurance State Farm covered 100% minus deductible as comprehensive since a rock hit it. The quote from Tesla on the roof is about $1800 installed. The bigger problem right now is stock of the part, I have been waiting 5 weeks so far.
What they told you may be because of how you described what happened. If it was due to debris from the road vs just part defect? I would inspect the outside and talk to your insurance again.
