Cross-country, service centers

Going cross-country next week. In regards to service center availability, seems like there are large gaps in coverage. For example, if the car breaks down in Mississippi, will my choices be to get towed 400 miles to either Dallas or Atlanta ? Or is there a better option ? Thanks

I have taken several 2500 Mile road trips. This thought never crossed my mind. Just because you see people talking about maintenance issues on TMC, please don't get the idea they happen often. The people who don't have issues don't tend to post about it. Most owners only see the Service Center during scheduled checkups, and many of us skip or delay those.
