I’d like to know why the CT is “much more important product”
Just a few.
The CT will influence how trucks are made by pushing legacy truck makers to switch to steer by wire which by all accounts appears to be a far superior way to steer based on owner feedback. It's always brought up in reviews. Same for 48 volt architecture which significantly reduces the amount of wiring and supports network sharing. (voice (i.e. music) and data. You will see other car makers begin to move that way since it's more efficient and cheaper to make.
Third, the CT has also opened up a new set of customers. Many people who never had any interest in a truck now do. No other truck has done that.

1. Steer by Wire isn’t new. It wasn’t invented by Tesla. If manufacturers wanted to use it they would have. Legacy Truck makers forced Tesla to redesign the Cybertruck from its original concept, including having no Frunk, no RWS, no automatic tailgate.

So if you want to use this point as why it’s “important” you’re too late as Rivian, Hummer and Lightning have already changed what Tesla did with the CT.

Steer by Wire….. meh…. A Truck is supposed to drive like Truck, that’s the point.

2. Can’t argue with that

3. What new set of customers? The F-150 is Americas #1 selling vehicle, not Truck. Vehicle. I wish Tesla luck trying to take that title, the Model Y can’t even touch it.

Truly environmentally sound motoring consists of keeping your existing average car with average economy running and driving as long as reasonably possible.

This net saves the most energy/ pollution. It also happens to save a ton of money.

Of course we all like new big shiny things and many of us will justify spending $65K on a new ride and then tell anyone you will listen that we are saving $75/ month in fuel, all along we are losing $1K/ month in depreciation on the new purchase.

The human mind is truly a fascinating plac
Agreed, and should drive like a Truck not a CUV.

Battery Pack size is also important. If I’m only saving $50 a week in gas but paid $30-50k more to get the EV, then there is no point.
It should wallow like a truck ? Steer like a truck ? Don't think so. Most trades don't need any more range than this, but the toughness, utility and comfort of the CT will be v attractive. In Europe trades mainly use vans rather than trucks for real practicality and security of moving stuff. The CT scores in both camps. Only those duelling banjo's in the woods saying otherwise.

Wallow? Steer like a Truck?

When is the last time you drove a truck?

When I the last time you heard Truck buyers complain that they wish it drove like a car?

Let me look at Ridgeline sales numbers since it drives like a car….

Again, steer by wire is most likely very nice (haven’t used it) and will benefit many people with disabilities. But it’s nothing new, no one has been asking for it especially in a Truck. OEMs aren’t going to run out and make that change, just like when Tesla Fans predicted stalkless and yokes was “the future”.

Aha! A slight begrudging cessation of the constant flow of diarrhea.

Truly insightful.

What diarrhea? You realize every gripe posted in this thread is legit. You act like we are just making diarrhea up, it’s just the constant flow from this car, it’s very hard to avoid talking about it. I’m sure you’d rather we talk how great the car is to “wrap”.

The disabilities thing is very insightful, steer by wire would benefit a lot of people with RA, but again, you think everything is diarrhea except of course Elon’s diarrhea….

Just an observation, no replies requested -

So, this is a thread someone created to discuss the topic of why the CT is not a, “bed of roses,” but rather a pile of 💩. Some would call it a “haters,” or “pragmatist’s” thread. And who else do find here? Some CT/Elon/Tesla/$TSLA diehards - some of which even resort to making “threads”. Unreal ….

These same people piss and moan incessantly when a non CT lover posts in CT lovers threads, calling them trolls and more.

Ah, the hypocrisy of it all…

Don’t waste your time with the “trolls” in this subject thread! 🤷‍♂️

Is it possible that others have a different perspective or use case that doesn’t match your agenda? If steer by wire Was offered on other trucks most Would want it and not need disabilities to see its value. You and the other 5 Anti Cyber grinders have only one acceptable point of view and continiously grind on it for hundreds of boring now posts.

Why are you even here, in a CT haters thread? Rhetorical question, of course, as we all know why you are here trolling.

Right. However, steer by wire was brought up on why the Cybertruck was “the most important product”

So again, a bunch of hyperbole by fans desperately trying to get everyone to believe the CT will change the truck market.

After 4 years of CT is the greatest threads, there’s one thread pointing out flaws and all the fans are going insane…. Wonder why….

Guess we need more “I wrapped my CT pink” threads. The post are so boring you all keep coming back attempting to defend the CT at all cost.

Give us our victory lap as we were right this whole time while all you were in denial..🤣

when is the last time a stereotypical truck got people excited? like rail against the internet and write incessantly about how the f-150 wrongs the world?
never. f-150s are invisible and anonymous. trucks are great for blending in, to get everyone to like you (strictly an American-ism only, btw), or at least not dislike you, or so you think. trucks aren't the sort of thing that inspire passionate discourse. has anyone ever accused the f-150 of being art?

CT just stomps on "trucks are supposed to be this and that, but only like the way that it's always been done, and never any other way" and lives rent free. CT does not care about what you or anyone thinks - because it's a machine.

CT is the honey badger of trucks.

The CT can't even stomp on the Lightning or Rivian. But it's a "Honey Badger". It essentially took a Ridgeline added Stainless Steel and a Battery......you CT fans are hilarious......

Obviously you are new to trucks: SVT Lightning, Shelby F-150 (All of them), Lightning EV, Raptor (All Gens) got people excited.

Just because there isn't a cult with other brands doesn't mean people aren't anticipating those vehicles.

There "2 million" Reservations for the Cybertruck...... this is a made up number by Tesla and Elon.

And herin lies the problem: If the CT is a game changer then the "platform" should already have provisions for a flatbed/box truck/van/conversion van etc.
Now THAT would be forward thinking and appealing to masses. Sofar all we can see is a mid size Hollywood truck
