Dashcam Viewer Red Dot Position

When I view some dashcam footage resulting from honking the horn, I see something like this:

To me, that implies that the honk event is at the red dot, but that I can view some more video following that point in time. In this case, an additional 48 seconds of video.

However, unless I'm doing something wrong, there's no way to view any video that happens "beyond the red dot."

Am I missing something?

I also struggle with quickly viewing the actual event that triggered Sentry. Seems like it always starts playing quite a while before the red dot, and it’s difficult to scrub to right before.

I think when you honk the car waits a few seconds and then saves the video. Presumably if you honk the event happened before and during and resolves within a few seconds i guess.
You could do another press o the dashcam icon a couple minutes later to save another clip with those next minutes.
Note that those next minutes should be in your dashcam general footage folder, although that folder "rolls over" so depending on the size of your usb key you might not keep them for long.
