Our RWD LR Model 3 was delivered to Boston from Dedham today. Was scheduled for 1pm didn’t hear anything until around 4pm and was told we would get a call beforehand but I got a call when the delivery specialist was 2 minutes out.

Everything looked good on the car itself, we were really excited to finally receive it.

Went to Dedham last Wednesday to sign all the paperwork. We originally ordered on October 14th.

No; the mfg certificate of origin will be fedexed to you in about two weeks. In the mean time, take the bill of sale to the DMV to get temp plates. When you get the certificate you can register the car.

Hi @Tourman Did you get the bill of sale from the trucker? Or did you use the purchase agreement accessible in your account to get the temporary license?

The guy who delivered my car yesterday didn't provide any doc, and said my IDA would email something to me. So far my IDA is nowhere to be found. Thanks!

Received a txt late last night that my LEMR arrived in Dedham and if I wanted to have it sooner than my appointment. I was originally scheduled to pick it up today, but that got moved to Dec 15 last week. I guess they don't have logistics under their belt yet.

Now I just hope the car I'm getting hasn't been rejected by someone else or has damage. I've never had that worry with any other car I've purchased. Ugh.

I received the same text. I wouldn't worry about getting someone else's rejected car as long as it's the VIN you were assigned.
Did you receive anything other than the text? It says that someone will contact to reschedule the delivery. No one has contacted me yet. To be fair though, the day has just started.

Delivery process has been an emotional Rollercoaster to say the least (but what else is new?)

Red, LR, AWD, Aero, EAP
Ordered 10/13; Vin received 10/31; Original delivery estimated 11/26; On the 9th I was told by my delivery specialist that the car would arrive in Dedham on the 23rd with possibility of early delivery; On the 23rd I was texted/Emailed that my delivery date had been rescheduled for the 12/14;
Now after the heartbreaking news of a nearly 3 week delay, they text me last night saying:
"Your Tesla is ready! If you'd like to take delivery earlier than 12/13/2018, please reply "YES" and a Tesla rep will reach out to schedule your new appointment."

YES! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THINGS HOLY, YES!

I haven't a clue when they are actually going to let me head over to Dedham, or what they even mean by "ready" (since it sounds like it could still be in RI?).

All this to say, don't let delays get you down. Because literally no one knows when you are going to get your car lol.

No one has reached out yet after responding to the text. Definitely still early in the day :)

Take the bill of sale (mvpa) to the DMV, and they will get you temp tags. You only need the final price sheet honestly, and the paper checker will try to give you grief but they don't know anything. I've done two cars since September this way. The delivery guy (trucker) does not have any paperwork for you.

I'm in the same exact position. Hoping that I will hear from someone this week that I can get the car next week maybe, but haven't heard a peep since the text last night. Trying not to get my homes up.

Wow you think next week? I was thinking it's a done deal to get it by the end of Saturday... Else I have no idea how they can say that it's "ready"

I think (just speculation based on what I have read here) that the cars are ready, maybe minus a detail and a charge, but in a RI parking lot. I think the texts that we got were an automated message from the Tesla computers that aren't taking into account the unique situation that the Dedham SC delivery team are having to deal with. I think it was Dedham that pushed back our appointments and the national system sees our cars as arrived and ready without reason for waiting.

Again I could be wrong, but it's what I'm telling myself so that I'm not disappointed if I don't get it sooner.

My theory is that they may have gained access to a parking lot nearby so they don't have to truck cars from RI everyday.

So got the scoop on Dedham which explains the current delivery wackiness.

Apparently, effective immediately, they can no longer use the parking lot across the street to store the massive amounts of Model 3s staged for delivery.

@Hotlobstah do you have means to verify this hypothesis?

Thanks. Which DMV did you go to? I went to the Nashua one and the ladies there said my MVPA doesn't have a VIN, so no temp tag. :(

It's common knowledge at Dedham. Also, when I asked how I could help with deliveries(I stop by occasionally, bring food, talk with waiting customers etc.) they stated a few acres of parking would be super helpful.

So, if any one has a few acres not being used in the greater Boston area contact Rick at Tesla Dedham.

Just received the following text:

Nashville, TN!

This is clearly a mistake. I've let them know.

Decided to contact Vanessa @ Dedham regarding the text I received. Her response, which I received within 5 minutes was:

"Unfortunately those text are automatically generated. The date we sent you from Dedham for 12/15 is accurate. If earlier dates open up, I'll be sure to contact you, but our schedule coming up is pretty packed."

Oh well. Worth a try to move the date up.

I went to the Nashua one, on Exit 6. But mine has a VIN. You need the MVPA that you provided to the bank. Mine says "Motor Vehicle Purchase Agreement Final Price Sheet", it's page 2 of the pdf.
Thanks, @Tourman. I think the problem is that I paid cash. The only MVPA I got was the one I received when I paid the $2500 deposit, and there's no VIN on there.

The chase after my IDA continues...
