Graham,

He may have jumped in on one of the late 2008 slots that they offered at $125,000. Add in a few extras and I can see the bottom line rising to that figure. I expect my 2009 to be 120 to 130 by the time I'm actually holding the keys.

The rule for the $125K '08s was that they would come at the end of the original '08 deliveries, was it not? Ergo, he must have had an earlier reservation and just kept it mum for lo these many years. Of course, that doesn't explain the price, so.....

No, that was just the '08s opened to the public at large this past September. Previous to that, if a slot opened up they would sell that slot number itself at an undisclosed price to a person they thought would give the Roadster a high profile (namely politicians and movie stars...). Entirely possible that he got in on that deal.

I have the list as a Word document with links to the sources. The first print "confirmation" for Leo was just last September 08'.

But this guy has been green and rich and private for a long time. He even tried to buy a TZero for 6 figures long before Tesla.

I am confident he has quietly been in the first 100 since the beginning and he may even be in the first 27.

Brangelina is also on the list, but I'm not sure how many of these TEG made up

Wrong list.

There were three "lists". First was sort of a crudely thrown together list of famous people we heard about. (the unofficial list)

Second was when TEG got more serious and made a real list with Tesla press releases and articles that mentioned celebrities linked to the list.

Lastly was a fun list of celebrities who (at the time) we thought should own a Roadster because they are openly green or at least pretend they are.
That third one is the one you linked.

By the way The TMC moderators decided to remove the celebrity list for reasons I never fully understood.

Yeah, I never quite understood that either. That was before I became a moderator, and I think it was removed by the OP.
I think the idea was to respect the privacy of certain owners. But we'd only know about it if it was published somewhere else to begin with.

Oh, I think I removed it because of the long delays. I didn't want those people to get extra ribbing for putting full deposits down on something that wasn't delivered. Now that the sig 100 have been delivered here is the original list back:

Lists like this are things that don't work as well with the forum format.

Perhaps we can reply to add someone (or some color/number information about someone) on a topic here, but the "real" list could live on something more static like Planet Tesla - where the guy wanted suggestions for crossover material.

Using forward and backward links, that could be the permanent home for the list itself, but we could contribute all the changes here?
