Do reservations dates change delivery priority?

I reserved back in 2016 the 2nd day it was open.
A little over a week ago I went in, test drove, and then configured on the spot. The specialist there said it would link my reservation to the order because of my email.

It didn't.
Now my account shows two reservations, one I made in 2016, and the other my order.

The $1000 from the 2016 reservation isn't showing on my final cost either.

Does it not being linked to my reservation change my delivery priority?
Thanks!

It sounds like you made a second order and it is no way tied in with your reservation. You should get in contact with Tesla to combine the order with the reservation.

If you don't care on the wait you can also just cancel the reservation but it may take longer to get your car.

When I called, they said my delivery specialist would move the $1000 over. I was more concerned with a delay that might cause me to get it after December...

At this point there is probably little advantage from ordering through an existing reservation vs just ordering as a new person. Where a reservation may help is when they add new items to the configurator, although it didn't help with MR.

I had a similar experience last weekend. I ordered and must have done something wrong because then my account page showed my original reservation and the order with a new reservation number. I called Tesla customer service and they said it didn't impact delivery timeframes and sent me an email with a few questions that I needed to answer to request a refund for my original reservation deposit.

So they couldn't move it over? They have to refund your $1000 separately?

FWIW, @Troy's excellent work would say that there is reservation date impact on delivery priority.

If you go to the VIN Queue tab, you'll see that AWD reservation holders are to be 100% fulfilled by 12/8, whereas non-reservation holders won't be 100% fulfilled until 1/8. (These dates move whenever anyone makes a change to the data, so may look a bit different by the time you check out the link.)
This spreadsheet is a masterful way to help you predict when you'll get your vehicle, if you take a few minutes to learn to use/filter the info.
So to answer your initial question, if you ordered AWD yes your rez status matters per the data from Troy. If you ordered RWD, I doubt it since those vehicles are available readily at this point.

Happened to me too, and several others that I've read about... Unknowingly ordered from a reservation not linked to my original $1k reservation. I had the same worries you did and spent a week going back and forth about priority assurances, etc. Ultimately I was convinced by several different Tesla sales and delivery agents that the priority wasn't applicable. I eventually just had my $1k refunded from the original reservation.

@suwaneedad I haven't parsed the data yet but if all of the info you see applies about fulfillment is true, then there's always that info to sway you one way or another.

Had the same problem: a 2nd reservation was created in used vs my reserved one. I called when I ordered and was told it would be fixed. It was not and I had cancel my reservation to get back my $1k.

I am actually pretty annoyed about being conned to give TSLA a $1k interest free loan for 2.5 years. They certainly could have continued to give reservations more priority but Elon clearly does not car about us as he is more focused on the shorts!
