the model 3 has better fob encryption as I understand it so I don't use it but I have it enabled on a 2016 Model S - speaking of which supposedly higher encryption security fobs were coming for the model S - I haven't heard anything recently about them?

The pin to drive feature makes the summon feature intermittent on my model X.

With the pin to drive on, sometimes when you push and hold for 5 seconds, the car just blink then does nothing. You have to wake up the car, then wait at least 30 seconds before you do the push & hold. Turn off the pin to drive solved the issue.

My main deterrent to using the pin to drive is I feel like it would be a pain if you ever need someone else to drive your car, like a valet, car cleaning etc. You either have to remember go in and turn it off each time, or give them the pin.

I don't use PIN to drive, but this is exactly what valet mode is for. I haven't tried it out...does it still ask for PIN in valet mode?
