Driver profile question from a newbie.

We got our Model 3 LR AWD Tuesday and are very much enjoying it. Can driver profile settings be actuated by a phone or keycard before entry or only by touching the display once inside?

I don't know of a way to do it, but maybe there is some trick I am not aware. Out of curiosity, why is it that you want to do that?

No. Hopefully at some point in the future. As to why, if you have more than one driver it would be nice if the car could recognize which phone is being used to unlock it and load the appropriate profile automatically.

Nope. But Elon has said that linking a profile to a phone/car/fob would be coming sometime in the future.

My wife is considerably shorter than I am. If she drove last, it is difficult for me to get in.

The use of the Easy Entry option could be a solution for that problem.

Yup, that is what I do. The wife is little and I am really tall. Easy entry is the solution for both of us.

Similar issue here, where my wife has the seat far forward, and I have it far back. The downside of easy entry for her is that she needs to wait for it to move completely to the opposite position each time driving after me, where for me easy entry and my settings are about the same. Because of that, and since she drives it the most, we've stopped using easy entry - which means I need to do the akward reach in to switch profiles before sitting down.

Linking to the key card that unlocks the car (as an option) to auto set a profile would be ideal.

Couldn't you set the Easy Entry position to about the middle of your two desired positions so nobody has to wait for the full length of travel?
(Or since you don't drive it as much, maybe set it to the minimum you need to be able to get it and select your profile.)

Adjusting “easy entry” to only move about halfway is also what I did to solve a similar situation.
