It's the same. I have an early 2020 LR Y with the performance motor. Software determines how fast it is, not the hardware.
The only good thing is that since the motor is built for higher performance, and it will never operate at that level, it will wear slower and stay cooler than the regular LR motor. But in reality that may not even matter as the lifetime of the motors could be much longer than the lifetime of the vehicle itself.
