I knew they were different springs, but I wasn't sure about the struts. Similar to other platforms that I've dealt with over the years, I wonder if as this model ages if there will be more OE parts being sold on the forums as people upgrade (e.g. MYP owner selling their low mileage factory struts after having installed coil overs, etc.). I know the MYP is only slightly lower than the LR, but I'm sure their strut design would be more capable of dealing with aftermarket springs that lower the LR's by ~1".
They arrive as an assembly (strut & spring) and assigned a single part number which is different from LR vs Performance. Don't believe there's any marking on the springs, but I can check next time we have a LR on the lift vs my Performance takeoff struts.

Got it, so the part numbers are definitely different, but is there a way to determine if there's a difference in the build/specs of the strut? For what it's worth, my LR springs were tagged with part numbers as well.

Sure, they can be rated on a shock dyno. A bit overkill for stock suspension as MYP stock suspension isn't really that impressive to start with.

Agreed, I just wasn't sure if this was common knowledge due to a discussion elsewhere.

Even when moderately lowering other platforms with springs on stock struts, I was accustomed to a big shift in the ability for the struts to handle the change. My wife's cars are typically low mileage, so I likely won't be able to speak to the factory LR strut degradation over time with the Eibach springs, but I can't tell any difference from stock (better or worse). It had me wondering how different the LR and P struts actually were when handling a lowered ride height. I should probably fill my time with something more worthwhile! Lol

Thanks. So, you think factory is harsh but with the Eibach's it's not harsh just a bit firmer? How are you defining harsh for the factory set up? Just curious as I have never dabbled in springs before.

You can definitely tell there's new springs installed, but it's not harsh at all. There is a sporty feel given when driving.

Yes, spacers were added.
 
I took some measurements to compare to the initial install ~30 days ago.

  • Driver front is the same
  • Driver rear is ~1/4" lower
  • Passenger rear is ~1/8" lower
  • Passenger front is ~1/4" higher

There are many variables when measuring, so it's pretty safe to say that the measurements swing 1/8" to 1/4" one way or the other depending on where I'm parked and how I'm holding the tape measure.

Here are a few pics with the 20mm spacers installed (thanks to @spoonf20c!). In my opinion, the pictures make it look more aggressive than it does in person. I've had some extremely aggressive wheel and tire setups on previous cars with air ride, so take my opinion for what it's worth.

For anyone trying to use this fitment for reference for their own setups, here are the final specs:

Front 21" x 9.5" +20, 255/35/21
Rear 21" x 10.5" +28, 275/35/21
