OK, let's get past the thread creep..This looks like the Hansshow kit which Hansshow does not yet show on their site although they are working on it. Can the Model 3 kit just fit the Y with no modifications??

I only want the locking part, i.e. the one that grab and close the hood. Don’t need power open/close, just want to avoid pushing the hood to lock it.

No frunk kit yet for the Y, despite the selling title...good thing I asked question (below) before ordering....you can go back to discussing Amazons environmental record.

Unfortunately Model 3 frunk kit doesn’t fit Model Y, they’re different. Our manufacturer is still working on developing for Model Y.

I installed the Hansshow kit on my model X and loved it. I've sent them an email asking if they will make one for the Y and like others have said, they are working on it. I imagine the delay is that the struts are buried deep in the car. I had to watch the Munro Live videos where he disassembled the Y to see where they are at. I suspect it will be a more difficult install than the X was but I'm still willing to give it a try.

I kind of like the idea of a powered Frunk and I'm wondering if I would use the Frunk more if it was powered? Also, it would prevent the two palmed special closing procedure as outlined in the owner's manual on page 18.

I am anxiously awaiting the frunk kit as well. Once installed the frunk will serve as my smelly-food pickup bin!

It’s always been my smelly food or any food for that matter, pickup bin. Hate to have food smell in the car.

As good as BBQ ribs and fried chicken smells, it does stink up the cabin and rather annoying to get rid of

I really wish they found a way to incorporate a bead/body-line to strengthen the hood.
