The curb rash on my 18" aero wheels is extensive. I'm seriously thinking about just using a grinder to make the whole wheel rim a consistent level of scuff.
Anyone else tried this? Thoughts?

I damage mine...then I paint it....then I damage it again...then I paint it again...and this is with me trying to be careful. The lip on the aero wheels just sticks out too far relative to the tire.
To the OP’s point, I’ve wondered if you machined that lip that sticks out to be flush with the aero cap, would that stop all the curb rash?

I just use a Dremel with a sanding drum (after protecting the tire with duct tape) to get rid of the "shrapnel." My protocol is to repair them every time I rotate the tires, and to seek perfection in other aspects of my life.
