For those with an interest in epidemics it is noticeable that avian bird flu has both become endemic in the native European wild bird population, and that it is also crossing the species barrier to mammals. In a past European bird flu outbreak there were cases of infection of humans, and I seem to recall similar reports from China at the time. One to keep a wary eye on for the future.

Interesting. A strike in UK offshore wind sector. I worked in offshore oil & gas including in UK for many years, and the UK oil & gas sector successfully resisted many & very persistent attempts at unionisation. Now it seems unions are already in action in UK offshore wind workforce. One to watch.

Ooops, now why break all the toys just now
to be clear, this is 2 x Nordstream 1 and 1 x Nordsteam 2 (EDIT : there are 4 pipes in total, but so far I have only seen reports of 3 pipes being affected, but that may be misreporting/etc)
.... by the way a rupture at 70m water depth would give approx 7bar surface gas pressure remaining ... and that corresponds to the water depths offshore Bornholm ... as a hint to any journalists who can't do sums and never did physics

UPDATE - NordStream AG statement confirms 2 x NS1 strings affected. No comment re NS2 as this NorStream AG legal entity is not operator of that asset. But we know that at least one of the NS2 lines is affected, perhaps both. So this could be either 3 or 4 lines affected.

Noticeable jump in oil and especially gas prices jump. This is not just Nordsteam related, it is also Naftogaz/Ukraine line

4th Nordstream leak found, maybe 4th device did operate, unclear which line .....
(the known leaks identified at surface were 2 x NS1 and 1 x NS2; however the first press releases out of Germany indicated that both NS2 lines had depressurised. Therefore my best guess at this stage is that this is the 4th device site and that it was on the second NS2 line. )
