Have you tried this on a Tesla? My experience with other Escort models (Solo S3 & SmartRadar) was that the radar signal was extremely attenuated by the windshield and I had to go with a 8500ci in the nose.

Bollar, personally I have not. However we have sold some to Tesla owners that have had no complaints. We have also saw some on here that say it works. I don't know to what degree.

I also had problems with my Beltronics Pro 500 behind the metallic coated windshield. I installed a Beltronics STiR Plus in the Tesla and run the Pro 500 in the Volt. I sure hope there's a window cut out in the Model 3.

Let me know when there's an Escort that works at full sensitivity in my 2015 P85D with its metallic coated windshield. I had an Escort SRX remote detector / laser emitter installed on my 2006 Corvette Z06 and it worked great since its radar & laser receivers were on the front and rear bumpers... Uber stealthy.

My metallic coated 2015 P85D windshield definitely blocks signals. I had to get a weatherproof 91 Express Lanes transponder designed to rear license plate mounting and mount it behind the nose cone since the regular transponder wouldn't transmit / receive on the windshield or rear window. Transponder wouldn't mount on the rear license plate because of the backup camera. Dumb design.

Does it block it to the point that you know it doesn't work? I'm just curious how does one know if it works or not? Have you guys tested it? I personally don't know so I am asking questions too. ;) I read other Tesla users say it does work but not sure how the performance is affected.

When I put my 500 Pro in the car and run the STiR at the same time, the 500 Pro mounted on the windshield takes a helluva lot longer to respond than the STiR which has the same "guts" if you will as the 500 Pro. It's worse on the infrared laser detection because the metal film on the glass is specifically made to reject infrared radiation (heat from the sun.) Combine that with my metallic tint on all the windows and that 360 is going to be an expensive paperweight inside the car.
