I am curious why you ask? Does it matter what year it is if the software/firmware can be updated?

Before 2013, the 9500ci came with the ZR4 laser shifters, which at the time was aging, older technology. In 2013, they swapped them out with a re-branded "LaserShifter Pro" unit which is much better than the ZR4s, but even now, in 2017, are considered older shifter tech. If you look in the OP photos, you'll see a small box with "LaserShifterPro" means it has the updated shifters.

I had bought an entire 9500ci refurbed setup on ebay for $900 and had it installed in my P85+, but it had the older ZR4s. When I transplanted it to my P85D, the shop upgraded me to the LSP unit for $600, which even though it's older tech by today's standards, it's still miles ahead of the ZR4s.

Awesome, thank you! The one I bought has the LSP so, while not as good as ALP's, I should be better off than if it had ZR4's.
