Oh wow. I wonder what the implications for the Model Y would be. I thought components were very similar between the Model 3 LR and the Model Y LR for the US market. Maybe the Model Y has a different type of battery than the refreshed Model 3 LR.
This is great news for Model 3 sales for the rest of 2023, but really bad news for next year. Tesla will likely sell out the Model 3 in the US in a couple of days. There are still some great inventory discounts at the moment though.
But why? Goes against what was rumored just a few weeks ago. Are the batteries in the M3 completely of foreign manufacturer?

If this is the only way to prevent Chinese EVs from flooding the US market, US lawmakers need to know how woefully behind the domestic EV manufacturing capabilities are and speed up the transition, not slow it down.

I think they will reduce prices by at least $500 so we have 8000 to split between the two. M3 reduce by 4000 and MY reduce by 4000. Gives:
