I'm seriously considering a Model S, and am very grateful for the wealth of information that folks have contributed to this forum. It's quite the education!

I've read about varying experiences at different Tesla stores and SC's. Does anyone have any experience with Tesla in Portland, OR? I'd just like to know what I may be able to look forward to, or what I may have to watch out for!

    Thanks!

Since your question is geography specific, you might want to try Northwest

I've had great service and attention to detail from the Tigard Service Center. They have consistently always kept in mind the distances I need to travel in order to make it there (180 miles from Bend), and they've always made sure I have an adequately charged loaner to get me home again. They have also worked with me to try and lump together service and any technical bulletins my car may need, and have been very proactive in making sure my car is kept up to date with everything.

There has only been 1 bonehead move on their part (actually a tech's part): When flushing the brake system during my annual service, the tech got air in the lines, which results in a very spongy, definitely-not-confidence-inspiring brake pedal feel. The bummer was that I picked up my car in the evening, and immediately got on I-5 southbound and drove all the way to the Detroit Lake Supercharger before I stepped on the brake pedal for the first time! By then, it was 8pm on a Friday. I called in on Saturday, and despite the shop being closed, they were willing to flatbed my car from Bend back to Portland. While the pedal definitely didn't feel good, I felt the car was safe to drive, and given that I had to be back in Portland the following Tuesday, we decided to just hang on to our car and drive it back up ourselves. They were very apologetic, and prioritized bleeding the lines, and the problem was immediately resolved.

I've had only good experiences with both the Tesla Store and the Tesla Service Center.

I'd second the thought that you post this in the Northwest forum; there are a lot of very helpful people who check that section regularly. My experience over the last 3.5 years with the folks in Tigard has been really positive. There were definitely some learning moments for all of us early on but they've always been helpful.

For instance, I emailed them on December 24th at about 4pm this year with an unimportant thing (a little water in an otherwise fully functioning tail light). I told them it was not pressing and that someone could get back to me after the holiday. I got an email response from the manager within the hour saying that they would order a replacement part and install it at my next appointment unless I happened to be in the area sooner (I'm about 100 miles away).

The team in Portland is great.

Bought mine in the Washington Square Tesla store last year - since I went and bought it in store (vs online) the product specialist loaded me up with as much swag as I could carry it was awesome!

Tigard service center is the best service experience I've had at Tesla on the west coast (including Fremont), they have some very interesting people that work there who are specialists. One guy is a race car suspension expert, I had a question about my balance/suspension and he went full geek on me while test driving it and almost instantly could feel a few things that needed fine tuning including the steering wheel being off center by some (unnoticeable to me) tiny amount. He was talking about automobile balance and suspension topics that I had never heard about. He cared about getting my Tesla dialed like it was his own. Picked the car up after and it drove like a dream.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. My experience in the Washington Square store has been very positive thus far. Folks seem very knowledgeable and not at all pushy. Which, I guess, is one benefit of the "price is the price" model!

+1 on Portland service center being good.

If I remember correctly they're also expanding into a downtown location at some point in the future.
