Jul 22: order placed in Tesla showroom for LR, RWD, Silver, 18 inch wheels, EAP. No edit button once order placed.
Jul 23: email from ISA that delivery will happen soon, asks how I will pay
Jul 24: email from ISA that delivery anytime after Jul 31, vin assigned 58XXX
Jul 25: I ask for Aug 2nd delivery; get confirmation from ISA
Jul 26: VIN shows up in my Tesla account along with “We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment.”

So far things have gone swiftly and smoothly....knocking on wood......

I have the EXACT same timeline as you and same config in midnight silver, except I configured via the website on 7/22. The email from ISA was there in the morning, with the same delivery estimate, which was ultimately scheduled to 8/1. My VIN is 26xxx.

A very unexpected and speedy turnaround. We thought we had at least a few weeks to figure out financing etc. but were able to get it sorted quickly. Hopefully everything continues smoothly through delivery.

Updating here. Home delivery went fine yesterday. Logistically there were a few issues with account page not updating and payment/financing, but ultimately everything was ok. Just a little stress beforehand!

As for the car, it's awesome of course. There were a couple of minor paint and fit/finish issues that will hopefully get resolved when we take it to service. Good luck today @spaghetti !

Congrats @woodisgood ! - glad things went smoothly for you. I can also report that my delivery at the Fremont Delivery Center went off smoothly. No issues whatsoever. Final payment was after inspection and via a personal check / financed through Lightstream. I noticed a scratch on the front driver’s side fender and a paint chip near the trunk lid - will get these taken care of at a service center. Also pleasantly surprised that EAP activated at a total of 15 miles on the odometer and phone app already activated and working.

Congrats @spaghetti! You probably already know this or were told, but the phone app may not work for you by the morning. It will come back online within 24-48 hours as they process your paperwork. I woke up to no app connectivity after having it right after delivery, but it was back by lunchtime. Enjoy the car...we definitely are!

@blueterrain

Sure...in no particular order. I can post photos later but this will give you an idea. I think most should be easily fixed when we head to the SC. It wasn't enough for us to reject delivery but I could see some people doing so.

1) One headlight not flush with the hood, raised about 1/8". Many people have described a similar issue. Will want to get that fixed.
2) Chrome window trim not aligned between front and back doors but equal on both sides.
3) "Grain of sand" under the clear coat in two places under one of the rear side windows.
4) Front passenger's floor mat looks like it's too big; sort of crammed and wrinkled into place. Perhaps from a Model S?
5) Front passenger's footwell wall (under the screen/console) was detached and couldn't easily be snapped into place.
6) A 2x2" clear coat "blush" on the inside of one of the rear door jambs. Probably the biggest paint defect found. If it was on a more visible part of the body it would be a really big frickin' deal.
7) A slight clearcoat scratch on the trunk that should buff out pretty easily.
8) A 3x3" area of bubbling/haze under the top layer of the console/cupholders. May not be visible after wrapping console with Xpel but still should be replaced.
9) Distortion in the windshield right in the middle / line of sight. Not as bad as what some have reported, but potentially headache-inducing. Deciding whether it's actually an issue for us.

About half of these we noticed during the delivery (we had about 20 minutes with our delivery specialist which also included signing docs), and the other half we noticed in the next hour or two. Most importantly, the car drives/functions perfectly.

I'm surprised that they took a personal check from you. I was told a cashier's check was acceptable.

Thanks. The phone app was working in the morning, and since I had enabled notifications, was notified that 2018.26.3 was downloaded and installed - this was also a pleasant surprise.

I too was surprised when my ISA emailed me that I could pay via a personal check. I even offered to pay via ACH when I was signing the paperwork, but the delivery specialist told me that a personal check was fine. The only thing I can think of is that I am a returning customer twice over, and also have a successful referral.
