Firestone couldn't do wheel alignment on Tesla

Fresno service center charged me $136.50 as recently as September.

No. The # was quoted to me by the Buena Park service rep (when I went there to replace my right repeater that was falling off)

Tesla’s own procedure is more extensive and requires toolkit (Tesla’s own software) to verify that the steering wheel is positioned at exactly 0.0 degrees.

I would think this could be VERY IMPORTANT if you have FSD.

Nothing goes wrong.

FSD/AP/EAP is disabled if the steering angle sensor is out of spec. That’s the only “very important” thing that happens. The car immediately lets you know that AP is disabled.

The Firestone in dallas told me he did not have to remove any panels...there enough gap to get his hand up into the wells to adjust

I recently took my dad's new 3 to get aligned as part of delivery issue fix. They covered it but said normally it costs $275. And, I'm surprised to hear they use software to adjust the steering wheel because even though the alignment spec shows 0.0 Steer Ahead and all specs are in mid-green, there is still a very noticeable off-center tilt to the steering wheel going down the road.
