Flying downt to Fort Lauderdale Saturday 10 Aug to pick up my new Standard Range Plus!

Well this has been a journy to say the least. It all started with purchasing a Standard Range Plus with white exterior and white interior. After waiting about 2 weeks and my delivery specialist stop responding to emails I gave the wife Tesla number to "talk" to them. Come to find out my white on white configuration was damage in transit from California to the delivery center north of Atlanta GA. A new delivery specialist called me the same day the wife called and gave them hell and he found a Model 3 SR+ with white interior but Midnight Silver Metallic color in Dania Beach. So after some looking at photos of the MSM color I decided to jump on it. I live in the pandhandle so it would be a 9 hour trip to drive down with a 3 and 4 year old in the van just to pick the car up and turn around and drive back. I found a somewhat cheap flight and decided to fly down and uber to the delivery center. So this Saturday I will be landing at 10:30 in Fort Launderdale and have an appointment in Dania Beach Tesla delivery center at 1:00 to pick up my car. This whole process has been a journey to say the least and to think now it's just beginning. So if anyone lives in the Ft Lauderdale area and sees someone in a MSM with white interior this weekend that will be me.

I have a couple of questions for you all.
1. Do you have Uber down in Ft Lauderdale
2. What are some things I should be looking for when picking the vehichle up
3. With having to do a 9 hour road trip right after picking the car up is there anything I should do
4. Do I carry the driver side floor mat from 3D that I already purchased with me through the airport : )

Can't wait to join the Tesla family and look forward to meeting some of you at future meetups.

1. Yes, Uber and Lyft all over.
2. Check some other posts for the checklist. Take your time going over the car. Pull it out into the light if you want to be able to see any paint defects as it will be in a covered garage with poor lighting.
3. Plan out your Supercharging stops. Ft. Pierce sounds like it will be one of them.
4. No floor mats is pretty lame. Maybe use the paper liners they provide for your trip home.

Good luck.

Just note that the Fort Lauderdale airport has designated Uber/Lyft pickup locations. You will need to be at one of those locations for your Uber driver to pick you up. As I recall there are signs that will direct you to ride-sharing or something like that or just ask someone for the Uber pickup spot. The locations are typically about a 2-3 minute walk from the main doors that exit the terminal area and the walk is mostly under cover should it be raining (but the pickup location has very little cover). Congratulations and good luck!

I'll miss you by a few days as I am picking up 8/14. Just make sure to check everything over and verify all vehicle functions before signing. Lights, windows, doors, cameras, USBs, paint, glass, wheels interior trim/materials,etc...
Leave the floor-mats behind - drive with paper mat is fine for a few hours.
