No, they wouldn't demand $10K. There would be an order processing problem and only way to resolve it is canceling first order and submitting a new one. Of course, new order is at new higher price.

Please pardon my cynical view of how Tesla treats its customers. Maybe it is from hearing so many horror stories on CPO and new deliveries in this forum.

Hopefully you are correct. Satisfied customers rarely opine, but every disgruntled one voices his/her frustration vehimently.

Your view is understandable and I see what you mean now that you mention CPO. They did in fact cancel orders after making pricing errors.
However I was talking about new car orders, Tesla has never asked customers or cancelled orders due to price increases.
