Fremont CPO experience - missing ludicrous

Picked up a CPO P90DL yesterday at Fremont.

As with so many other experiences posted here, they really try to rush you in a shady sort of way to sign before you can inspect the car. I insisted on looking it over, and luckily there weren't too many problems. However, here's something I haven't heard from other experiences. They now tell you they can't take any list of items to be fixed or even look at it with you. You are supposed to send the list with pictures to your SA or the delivery specialist that was sending emails coordinating delivery before delivery. She insisted over and over that this is the only way it is done now.

I've sent off the email - we'll see!

The biggest issue was that the CPO pictures and the spec sheet showed it had ludicrous. The CPO pictures showed the badge outside and the badge on the screens had the underline. The badge outside still has the underline. But the underline is gone in the software displays, and there is no option to select ludicrous - only insane.

There were other smaller issues like a missing key fob, one missing floor mat.

The vehicle has only 9100 miles, but it rattles like a box of bolts. Sounds from everywhere. Whistling noise from both front windows. My 2012 CPO model S that I got at 24K (now has 60K after 4 years) has only one rattle. This X has so many rattles and noises that I wouldn't even know where to begin. I was terribly disappointed initially. Now I see if I drive with the audio turned up, I can get close to the model S feel. At least the UHFS in the X is better than the UHFS in the S.

I'll update the forum on what happens next.

Is it a 2016 with AP1? It seems like the vehicle is not what you expected. Care to share the last few digits of the VIN. The early VINS were supposed to have lots of issues.

Do you have the option to walk away and get a refund? How much time the the entire process take? Did you finance or pay cash and any issues there?

2016 built on 5/16. Here's the update. The DS responded right away the next day, and sent the requested items for approval. One day later all requests were approved. Actually the communication from the DS has been great. The car came from the east coast, and he gave regular updates on the ETA. The car arrived at the Fremont center in 2 weeks. Upon arrival, he said the service center was replacing my MCU due to an unresponsive touch screen. Score! MCU2, I thought. But, no such luck. They replaced it with MCU1. Same thing happened with my Model S which had the MCU replaced late last year. They must have lots of MCU1s sitting around.

Here's another strange thing. The car didn't have ludicrous when I picked it up as I mentioned. The next day, after my email to the DS with the list of items, it suddenly showed up again! I asked him if he helped make that happen - he didn't respond to that particular question.

I don't have an option to return it. But, I don't think I want to now. It is growing on me - sqeaks, rattles, whistles, buzzes, whooshes and all. I just turn up the fabulous sound system. This car has the Michelin Latitude 3 "acoustic". In Michelin's case, acoustic must mean it makes more road noise!
