Grey Next Gen Seats - Available January 2017 ?!

My Model S was slated for delivery in late October / early November, and I also noticed my delivery status changed to late December / January. I am betting they have enough inventory to get through the next month or two, but then the supply for the gray next generation seats is gone.

Tesla can't afford any shortage that could delay deliveries or compromise sales until January, so I bet we will be offered a change to a different color for no extra fee or we will be hearing about new seat options in the near future! :D

C'mon Tesla -- give us ultra white ventilated seats!! :)

If I were a betting man, this would seem to suggest that their current inventory gets them to the end of the year after which they transition to something else. Possibly the same style next gen seats as the X.

Took delivery of my MS90D with Next Gen grey seats two weeks ago. My DS told me at delivery that there was huge demand on that color and they were expecting future orders to have a delay, along with the matte obeche wood, since many people were going with that combination. I have to tell you, the grey seats look great - haven't had any staining or marking issues like some have described.

That's crap... Just made my mind up to order an Obsidian Black S60D with black headliner and grey seats..
It's a company car and can't put in the order until Sept 1, so I'll just have to wait and see what happens with the status over the current month

Ugh... I just ordered a Midnight Silver S60 - not confirmed yet. I was hoping for September delivery, but it looks like it's going to be January - I will wait - I don't like the tan or black. If this is a favorite, a lot of 3Q2016 and 4Q2016 deliveries are going to be delayed or cancelled - bad timing for increasing delivery expectations. I realize unforeseen complications can arise, but Tesla will certainly need to do better supply chain management if they want to deliver 500,000 vehicles / year.

Sudden increase in demand after people saw the very helpful replies to my thread, no doubt :). I thought grey + obeche was a super rare combo, but maybe not anymore...

just ordered my 60D with the great seats - major bummer that I will need to wait as well. I think its worth the wait

I have the grey seats, got the car three weeks ago, and love them. If you can wait until they're available and aren't in a rush, I would recommend it.

That being said, if the white seats from the Model X ever become available for the S, I would get those. I've seen them in person and they really pop, especially with a darker exterior pain color.

My order for a 90D with the Grey seats was confirmed August 1 and showed an August / Early September expected delivery. The "Delivery Experience Specialist" stated that it would finish production the last day of August. So far there's no mention of being delayed for availability of parts.
