@ScottnAZ Please keep us posted on the delivery expectations from Tesla. I am ordering S60D with grey seats on Sept 1, so I am curious to learn how much the potential delay will be.
I'm also waiting on a car with gray seats. Confirmed on 7/21 and have been told they don't expect any issues with my order. So, we'll see. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.
My order (which included grey leather) was confirmed in late June. I requested a October/November delivery... and My Telsa account still confirms "Your estimated delivery window is October - Early November."
My S60 order with grey NextGen seats was confirmed on 8/3 - shows September/Late October delivery. The DS thinks it will be here the third week in September. I'm hoping for no delays - Alliant says the 1.74% rate ends at the end of September!
So my order was confirmed today and there is no delay for me in getting the grey seats. I have a late Aug/Early Sept delivery date! What was going to be a late Christmas present is now a welcomed early one!
Ok sounds great! Maybe Tesla just wants to lower the inflow of orders with Grey seats by putting that statement on the website? I also inquired at the local Tesla store here in NL and sales guys were not aware of any delays..
I could be wrong, but could this be a sign of them phasing out the next gen seats (going through their inventory) and switching over to Model X seats, considering that Model X seats only come in tan and black (as well as white)? Just a thought

I put down a deposit for a Model S last week and confirmed with my final spec tonight. My VIN came through 10 minutes later. I settled on grey seats despite "Available Mid-2017" and now I have an expected delivery date of November-Early December. I've been told not to hold my breath by the sales staff but then again at first he told me that grey seats were no longer available to order.
This is delivery to London which usually means atleast 4-6 weeks transit time.
OK that sounds promising. Just put in my order for the Model S60 with the lease company today (NL), also choose the Grey Next Gen seats. Hope the car is delivered earlier than Mid 2017, or otherwise I won't mind settling for the white Model X seats which are now being offered in the P-models
And a short update.. today got the confirmation e-mail from Tesla including the VIN etc.. and the expected delivery is currently set at 'November - Early December'
