Elon Musk and Axl Rose have the timeliness of a Swiss Watch by comparison:

It’s been over a decade since Valve first promised Half-Life 2: Episode 3

Just over ten years ago, on May 24, 2006, Valve first announced it was working on Half-Life 2: Episode 3, the final part "in a trilogy... that will conclude by Christmas 2007."

2006 was before the first iPhone and before President Obama and the Tesla Roadster.

SpaceX has landed multiple Falcon 9 rockets and Model X is finally being delivered in volume.

And still, there is no conclusion to the Half Life story, which stalled on a cliffhanger more than 10 years ago. C'mon Valve!!! Blizzard shipped StarCraft 2 in 2010 and has continued to update the story since.

Some believe that, one day, Half-Life 3 will literally just show up on Steam with no fanfare -- Beyonce-style.

More realistically, it's never happening, Valve just doesn't make narrative-driven single-player games like Half-Life anymore. The make service-oriented things like Dota 2.
