Hand over to private buyer

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
Quick google search for this. You need to remove the car from your account, and the new owner needs to add it to theirs.

Have sold my 2019 M3 SR+ to a private buyer.
Change over is in a week or so.
Teslas are not normal cars. What do I need to do before the new owner drives away.
My question is about the car not the money.
1. Do a factory reset. Make sure you have a connected Card Key available.
Collect or format the USB drive from glove box (dashcam /sentry videos).

2. Remove the car from your account via the app.

If you get the buyer to register a Tesla account, you can transfer ownership to them using the Tesla account website.

Before doing that, you'll want to do a factory reset (this is in the in-car menus) - you need to use your account password to authorise this action. That'll remove all your customisations, saved addresses, bluetooth connections etcetera.
