Hansshow Audio Upgrade? (SR+)

There aren't any solid reviews just yet because it's just that. Good. I think it can be much better with adjustments to the DSP, but I am not expert on that. That's why I made videos and tried really hard to get this working well enough to encourage others to do the same and help the community.
Definitely with you on having others get on board and touch up their settings. Everyone’s ears are different so I think it’s a must! But from what I understood from the dsp (haven’t played with it yet) is you can map you channels and then it’s channel based equalization? Or is the equalizer for the system as a whole? Do you also have fader audio control for output of each channel?

Does anyone with a subwoofer kit has installed it and is happy with it ?

In our group of people who bought and installed it, at best we found the bass better. Since the DSP died on me after just a few hours of use, I disconnected it and honestly the stock sound is way better. Sure it is way too front heavy, but it's never dull or flat as it was with the Hansshow kit.

Before the death of my DSP, we tried several custom config, and I've never been satisfied.

I'd really like to check the config made by the "German tuning masters" as they wrote on the product page. Since I just add speakers to an already very good setup, I really don't know how they managed to made it sound worse.

So I agree with alien8ter it is good and definitely an improvement from stock system, but it could be much better. I do enjoy my music more now though so I'll take that, I have a friend who does the sound for one of the shows here in a casino and he's going to help me properly set the EQ for each channel since he has the equipment to measure and all. I'll post pictures when we get the change to do it, probably some time in the next 2 weeks.

Yes EQ settings are per channel, not sure what you mean by fader per channel, but you can adjust volume output per channel

Hey emcp422, that’s exactly what I meant actually lol, volume output per channel. Once the system is adjusted I feel it will have much better potential. I’m sure the stock premium system isn’t outputting maximum volume from every channel for audio experience purposes. I need to get hands on and really play with it! Hopefully I’ll get a call soon that my system was received *sigh*

Hi dj_nick see your from mtl ? Have you installed the E kit in your Sr+ ?

That's exactly what he said, that it had potential since it used the factory speakers, when I showed him what was received and the settings on dsp originally and after updates, he said their original setting they booster the gains per channel to high to make it sound louder and when we started complaining about the loud chimes they fixed that by returning them closer to normal, also explained sometimes you achieve better result by cutting instead of boosting. Also said that it was not properly tunned for the car like tesla's premium system, which is what he's going to try to do for me, so the experience is more wholesome. Also mentioned something about some delays may need to be done so a few frequencies don't cancel each other, but I know nothing about that so can't comment

The Hansshow DSP's don't support time alignment

Wondering if it’s a big difference from the original
Not sure about the audio difference between both. Version F is ported so you might you might get some boomier bass while using less power from the amp/car.. but it is also less accurate bass. The box is also heavier so it plays in to the weight of the car. Trade offs lol!

I called VE Montreal and I was really unhappy with the phone convo. I felt like their service wasn’t the type of service I was looking for, especially on a newer product like this sound system.

Ok ok.... so wil you install it yourself ?

I will definitely not do it myself, too much responsibility/liability. I have found an installer but I’m going to wait until the install is done before I start referring others to them. I want to make sure the job is clean and done properly.

Honest question. If your installer does their job and puts it all in as directed by the Hansshow installation guide, are they also responsible then for ensuring the fader/balance work properly and that the sound levels are set correctly? Where does liability end on the installers part?

Well if something happens to the cars electrical system then they are liable since they have chosen to take on the job and install the system. The liability part I solely related to the vehicle and not the system. But when it comes to the system they told me that they will be the Hansshow liaison and take care of parts and whatnot.

Well said by your car audio friend. Maximizing the gains on every channel sounds great...to people on the sidewalk when your windows are rolled down while you drive by...lol. However, this approach would have horrible sound quality for the cars occupants. It would be very unbalanced and both staging and imaging would not be very good. Tesla has likely spent an incredible amount of time to tune the oem premium system including gain for each driver, frequency sent to each driver, and likely time-aligned signals as well. According to articles, the team of audio engineers were ex B&O staff. HS has made reference to German tuning masters and if that was the case it's strange such experts would crank up the gains so high in each channel. At this point if you have the patience and interest in tuning, adjusting, fiddling to get it all to sound right, this system could be the ticket but for those not so inclined they should wait until it's all sorted out.
