Has anyone gotten the "new" MX yet?

I think I finally have my ICE SUV sold and am really on the fence about an X. I have an S, so i know about teslas in general, just never spent time in the X so i wonder about the new upgrades vs. the older ones.

My local sales office says if i order one today there is a 50/50 chance i'll get it by the end of May. That seems quick to me. Are the new models (longer range/new suspension) definitely being built/shipped that quickly?

Finally, perhaps a loaded question, but am I the only one with trepidation ordering a new Tesla given the current company cash crunch? <ducks under desk> My son says I'm not a true believer LOL.

So I'm seeng people who ordered April 23rd through like May 2nd getting their cars starting yesterday, but it looks like it's just pretty much west coast deliveries at the moment. I believe the manufacturing line changed over May 1st. In that case it's only two to three weeks from order to delivery for some of these first ones. I imagine there's some kinks to work out changing the motors and suspension and wheel bearings and whatnot all over, so it could speed up a touch. I would say it's possible if you live westcoast that you get it before May, but seeing as you are eastcoast I would venture to guess beginning of June.

As far as S vs X goes, if you are comfortable in your S you will be just as comfortable in your X. You sit higher, and your feet go down more just like any SUV, but other than that I find them a very similar driving experience. I've got a new one on order but it's not here yet so I can't speak more specifically on it.

Do I have trepidation ordering a new tesla with a cash crunch? Yeah maybe a bit. It's my third one, though, (first got totaled, second is an amazing Model 3 Performance). I know what I'm getting into and I think the cars and the safety tech are amazing. Also, tesla just got pumped with a ton of cash lately so on the chance that something does happen it wouldn't be soon (relatively speaking) and I can't see a world where another manufacturer wouldn't pick up the pieces. It's a gamble I'm willing to take easily. My first Model X was totaled by a drunk driver, and it kept my wife extremely safe even after having the ass-end ripped off and sent into a median it. I want to support the sort of company who builds cars like that.

If you don't like waiting in general, you wouldn't want to order a custom X. I've ordered mine 3 weeks ago and still haven't gotten a VIN and my Sales Advisor nor the Tesla CS couldn't tell which part in production my order is or if it's even on production yet. So, I went ahead and ordered an inventory 100D for relatively same price as my custom SR.

If you like the ride of your MS now, I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy the MX as is. BUT, if you must've the latest one and waiting isn't a big deal, I think the refresh models will be so great!

Ordered new model x with 6 seat configuration on Apr 26th, Got a text from Tesla team (on may 14th) that it is scheduled for delivery on May 21st. Called the delivery specialist to confirm, seems like VIN/MVPA was generated on May 15th. Sent the MVPA to the bank. Now awaiting delivery.

I ordered it 2 weeks ago and the estimate was that I would receive it in May. When Tesla made significant improvements while dropping the price, and I get free Ludicrous mode, it was the right time to upgrade. I had my Roadster 2.5 for 4.5 years, and my Model S P85DL for 4.5 years. It’s hard to believe the 5500lb X will slightly out perform my S that weighs 650lbs less, but that’s what Tesla says. I can hardly wait.

I ordered April 28th and I don’t even have a VIN generated yet. So I can’t see any cars been ready within that time frame. That is, of course if you are definitely looking for the upgraded Model X.

The new suspension is definitely improved, the "sport" setting adds quite a bit or extra rigidity.

I had my wife take a picture on our trip home (approximately 2hr) of our average Wh/mi, she took the picture fairly early into the trip (about 50 miles) that showed 292Wh/mi. This actually ended up around 260ish Wh/mi.

So no reports of the new motor/suspension setup vs. the old yet?

Check @Sketchy he’s the first one to post about the refresh model X
