Has anyone installed the new blackvue DR900x on model s?

My 900S failed twice and they sent my a 900X. But it has a whole new hardwire. The old one I wired into the extra plug above the rearview mirror.

Why can’t you do the same with the new one? I’m assuming it also runs on 12v power.

The new one has a totally different power connector. The old connector wouldn't power the new dashcam. The new connection has a ground cable as well. Ill take some pictures later

It’s still a 12v power source. I don’t understand the challenge of re-wiring.

Not being able to re-use the original wiring doesn’t mean the fundamentals have changed.

Now there are 3 wires. ACC, BATT and ground. The only install was just ground and 12v

I also had dr900s which died and I replaced it with dr900x.

It's no problem. Just need to rewire. Connect ACC and BATT together and then to +12V.

The bigger issue would be wiring to the back camera, did that change as well?
