Help decide between 2017 Model S vs New Model S

End of quarter savings are unpredictable. This past quarter, I don't think folks got anything much (aside from the free Ludicrous mode for existing owners, which was offered from the middle of the quarter.) Pre-Raven inventory cars got free supercharging.

Do new inventory units have typically good deals around the quarter-end?

Generally it's demo/showroom cars not 100% brand new, unused cars. Great deals to be had if you're ok with a car with that history.
We'll see what happens for Q3 now that they hit a record quarter and don't have to combat the shorts quite as much.

I agree - get the new one. I just bought a 2016 90D, and it's phenomenal. However, in retrospect, I wish I spent about $15k more to get a 2019 Raven S Standard Range. For all the reasons everyone mentions above. The used cars are great values, but with the tech changing so fast, it would be nice to have had a 2019.

If you are looking at a 2017 with 40k miles for $10k less than new then obviously the 2017 is priced way to high.

Newer is the way to go, especially with the newer motors and raven update. The ride quality difference is day and night and you won’t regret it. The only "downside" I see with going for the older model is free supercharging but in all reality, you rarely use it and you can get 1k free just by using your own referral. I'd pull the trigger on the new model! Good luck in advance.
