You can't even leave a voice mail....it just disconnects "due to sale volume".

C'mon, Tesla can and should do better (ie if not a message center/VM, have extra call volume bounce to sales associates at stores).

LOL - reminds me of the Laguna Seca souvenir shop. They shut down the online store due "high demand" and it didn't open until they caught up filling orders.

I wish my company had that type of demand.

still a new order basically. just cancel the model 3 order online since that is possible and place a new one. don't think you can jump ahead in the queue of orders with the separate vehicles. Just use that referral code for the discount on new order still of course.

Thanks but already have put $2500 down for 3; just no VIN yet. It needs a Tesla interaction.

In any event, I filled out an online contact form with details. Phone answering is still a problem area for tesla.

There is a Tesla showroom in Naples Florida. You could go there. Your TMC profile indicates that is your location. Or are you in “OIB NC”? I’m not sure what OIB means, I assume NC means North Carolina.

Experience from a guy who had a Model S VIN assigned before switching to a Model X:

I went to the showroom and placed the Model X order. I informed the guys there of the situation. They said they'll need the old order confirmation number.

I was asked to go ahead and place a fresh order for the Model X and pay an additional $2500. They said they'll link the old order to the new one, calling it a "New opportunity" and apply the old order's deposit toward the new order. It took until 3 weeks before delivery for the deposit to show up on the order page but the Delivery specialist gave me a salesforce screenshot of the transfer happening within their internal systems. When I took delivery of the Model X, the invoice reflected I'd paid a $5000 deposit.
