Horn stopped working

Slow car in front of me this morning , not moving so went to honk, nothing!
Have owned about 10 cars and never had this happen, pretty surprised. 20’ M3
Going to service it tomorrow.

On my previous Model S horn stopped working due to severe rusting. Bought exact replacements from Amazon for a bit over $ 25.00
The old ones are not removable from the Frunk side, so just placed the new ones into available empty space.

My 2018 horn died as well, had mobile service come out and replace it, one tone died first then the second, probably didn't use the horn in like 2 years, but once it was dead i needed it about 4-5 times that week

If you are in warranty, Tesla will send mobile tech to replace it. Happened to me once on my 21.

One tone died in my old 2018 as well. Sounded like it was honking at that point. Mobile service replaced it pretty quickly.

Update: cancelled service as horn miraculously started working again.

i had the simlair problem. honk was not working and suddenly working and then stop working and working again. So I got fed up and reprogram using custom sound.

Custom sound works in Park mode but not when driving.

Update: cancelled service as horn miraculously started working again.

That happened to mine when it was dying. It would come back in warmer temps then die again when it got colder.

I thought my horn wasn’t working but turns out it doesn’t go off every time if I push closer to the edge. Certainly was frustrating at the time…

Could be corroded contacts. Try to disconnect the spade connectors to the horns and then reconnect to make a good connection.
