How Do You Remove the Induction Wheel Lug Nut Cover?

I looked in the manual and there is some tool they use. It appears that you slide the tool in behind the center lug nut cover and pull the cover off. Is that correct? Do you even need the tool to do this? Or can I insert a flat head and pull it off? If anyone has already pulled the cover off to remove wheels - I'd love to hear how you did it.

I made a tool similar to the one on Amazon out of a metal clothes hanger. You can also use a paint can opener.

Every car should come with the removal tool in your glovebox. If not, ask for one through your service center, they’ll give one at no charge. I attached the pic of the tool with the part number for reference. I didn’t get one, ordered it and they delivered one to my house.

Here are the tools I used: box cutter (you need a super thin blade to pry open the cover), plastic trim removal tool (you can get a six pack for under $10 on Amazon), once you have the box cutter in to pry enough slip the blue plastic tool deep inside to pry up. You may need to gently move it to two or three spots before it literally pops off. Good luck, easy peezy!
