How to time ordering with so many changes on horizon for the Y?

Just placed order for LR, 3 row, hitch, blue MY on 9/10, EDD "Jan-Feb". Does that mean I can hold out hope my vehicle will have the new bladed batteries or unibody construction? I called today to make sure I completed the order process properly and woman on the phone made it sound like I'll have the vehicle much sooner. Seems like if you don't absolutely NEED the vehicle (and I don't) before January, it's probably best to see what Texas ends up kicking out spec wise right?

Right (its all a game of speculation).

If you want some feature or other that is not on a tesla yet, wait until cars are shipping to others that have that feature before you order. There is no other way, because tesla does not wait to make changes until the model year changeover. There is no guarantee a specific model year will be a delineator.

To answer the question in your thread title "You dont, you wait until its shipping in vehicles before you order".
