How to trade in?

I am about to order an Y, do I ask for a trade in value of my old car at the time of ordering or when it is closer to the delivery? I bought my 3 previously without a trade in.

You can do it at the time of ordering, but there is no point really unless you want an idea of the amount. The offers are only valid for a limited time & additional kilometers. I did it after i got my VIN number, and didn't end up accepting since other places offered quite a bit more - i went with a carsales instant offer. Wasn't really any more difficult than trading in.

My Tesla trade in offer is $42500 - i did it once I got a VIN assigned. I called Tesla to ask them to enable trade in for my Y purchase.

I haven't used the car sales instant offer yet, but its range is $46500 to $47500 - i'll try to sell privately first.
