HVAC Vent blowing foam out

Has anyone had this before and should I be worried?
I got in my 2012 MS P85 vin P03XXX after work today and before I drove off I noticed the far left vent blew something on me, and had a piece stuck in it, they were about 1/2" long, 1/4" wide, and 1/16" thick. Then another piece an inch long flew out on the drive home. It looked like the foam that goes on the moving baffles inside the HVAC, they were really gross, a little sticky somehow, and basically disintegrated when I touched them.
Any thoughts? Are they going to get clogged somewhere and break something? I doubt it but it can't hurt to ask.

That happened on my 2013. If you shine light in vent you can see where it’s coming from around edges. I just pulled the loose stuff out with tweezers and pushed some edges back in tightly. Didn’t seem like anything to worry about.
