Input navigation destination

Could be an issue with the 3G/LTE connectivity - since destination searches are sent to a cloud server, and navigation routing is also normally processed on a cloud server.

We encounter this problem in our S/X right after we leave our garage. We have WiFi in the house - and entering destinations is fast on the WiFi.

If we try to enter a destination as we start driving away from our house - nothing happens (same is true with voice command, which also requires internet connectivity).

It appears the LTE connection takes a few minutes to switch over after losing WiFi - after that everything seems to work.

When you can't enter a destination - first look at the 3G/LTE signal bars at the top of the console display to verify you have adequate signal. If that shows you have a connection, then try another operation that requires internet access such as zooming in/out the console display or entering a voice command. If you don't have internet, those functions also won't work.

If they do work, then the problem is related specifically to the navigation software. Recommend a reboot of the console processor to see if that clears the issue. If not, then report it to Tesla. If you aren't on the most recent software, ask them to push that to your car, in case there was an issue when you're current software was installed.

And if you are still having issues, that can be reproduced reliably - you'll probably need a Service Center or Mobile Service appointment to get the issue resolved.
