Is a smart Tesla charging coming to UK in June?

I was in the Tesla shop in Edinburgh today, and the assistant mentioned that their is a smart Tesla charger that is coming to the UK in June, which will fall under the grant you can receive.

Anyone heard similar?

this qualifies it for OLEV?

Its got to be OLEV approved. Tesla never bothered (as I understand) to get their other ones approved when smart capability was not a necessity, so who know if/when they will get new model approved.

I’m led to believe its not they they didn’t bother, it’s that it doesn’t meet the criteria of being a ‘Smart Charger’ which is a requirement to be approved.

The requirements for OLEV to be a smart 'charger' only came into force mid last year - prior to that, smart charging didn't matter and in fact, was not very common. There was plenty of opportunity prior to the change in regs for the wall connector to become OLEV approved, but it never happened.

Please can someone confirm whether the currently available tesla wall charger for home is compatible to charger non tesla cars?

Yes, it's just a type 2 charger.. there were some early leafs that were type 1 that wouldn't work but anything later than that is fine.

I used mine with a Kona electric for several months without any problems.
