Is it normal to take more than 2 weeks of transit to CA?

I am in SF area, near Dublin.
I ordered the car June 30, and the order status was updated "in transit" status 2 weeks ago
I was expecting the call from Tesla for delivery scheduling, but there was no contact for the last 2 weeks.
Is this normal?
I tried to call my delivery manager, but she is on vacation now.
I will call her next week.

So.. Another member and I from Southern California had the same issue. I actually stopped into the delivery center and asked, and they set me up with a delivery date. Apparently, you're probably just lost in the shuffle somewhere, and once you talk to someone to get a delivery date, then the factory will get pinged to get it ready for shipping. Calling the Tesla customer service number is quite useless and I couldn't get anyone to email me back either. Go in person, ask nicely, and you shall receive (I hope) It worked for two of us down here.

Yup, that was Me! Thanks again JPWX

Been to the delivery center in costa mesa twice in 3 days now (there for over two hours today). I'm finally all set and scheduled to pick up the vehicle on sunday. They told me today that the vehicle was already there at the facility!

I've been going through a whirlwind of issues but JPWX gave me the best suggestion, which was to go there, and now I'm all squared away.

Just to note I pretty much never heard anything from any of the DSs I was assigned. Today the person who helped me told me that he took over the account this afternoon and not to expect any updates on the site other than documents, and that the DS assigned is no longer involved.

I'm thinking I should make a post after sunday just to share my full experience with everyone. Maybe JPWX will piggy back on it.

Thanks. It is good to hear that I am not alone. I am quite disappointed on Tesla's sales management system. This is 3rd time that my order and delivery managers were switched. Each time I call them a different person was assigned and couldn't follow up the issue.

This seems to be the general principle with Tesla. I don't even know why they have that call center at all, since nobody in it seems to know *anything*; they'll lie to you, misdirect you to the wrong department, but never actually help.

As early as 2013, the "inside delivery specialists" were completely worthless and I'm not even sure why they exist; the only useful thing to say to them is "I need to speak to your manager", and even that was difficult. The "outside delivery specialist" was useful in the past.

A little rant/analysis:

IMO and from what I experienced, they are overwhelmed with the current volume of their sales and they don’t have the staff and infrastructure to support it just yet. (Barely any street parking within 100yds of the delivery center and no chance in their tiny parking lot)

Everyone there was very helpful and very nice. I think they are running into a problem of having a large volume of anxious people wanting their cars. I haven’t seen the full process yet but I imagine they are probably delivering about 70 cars an hour. (6k model 3s made a week, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week)

So with that in mind, I’m guessing there’s no shortage of a line of cars getting delivered all day everyday. I’m thinking it’s a “squeaky wheel” gets the Tesla situation.

So when JPWX suggested I go into the delivery center, as I did, I literally felt like the delivery check-in person clicked a button that probably said something like “deliver the car!” all while she said to me “the car will be here in a couple of days” (Orange County is about a 6 hour drive from Fremont).

Best suggestion is to go in, be patience, be nice, smile and ask politely. They are definitely not sitting on their butts doing nothing. Just changing the world at the rate of 850 cars a day. These are definitely exciting times for the car industry. Once we get ours I’ll most likely try to share my full experience with everyone, if anyone even cares :)
