Is the Model X pano roof UV Protected?

Super curious to figure out how dogldogl got sunburned. No one else is experiencing this and it’s physically not possible given the coating.

So what’s going on for dogldogl? Somehow got a windshield without coating? Was in the sun other parts of the day?

I’m equally curious (perhaps moreso, given today’s experience).

The majority of incident sun during the drive was via the windshield, overhead - where it’s tinted darkest. I did not have the sunshade in place. No other significant sun exposure prior to burning.

I believe all glass block most UVB just by being glass, any coating (or tint film) would be to block UVA and IR. So if all the windows are closed, it should not be easy to get sunburn in any car.

The pano roof blocks UV, but (AFAIK) not the front. And not the sides, unless you get tinting post-delivery.

You can easily get a sun burn through the side windows. An extreme case: Trucker accumulates skin damage on left side of his face after 28 years on the road I also have more damage on one cheek than the other; I should have tinted my cars side windows in my youth.

I can confirm that it's very possible to burn in a car with the windows up. I burn on my arm and thigh closest to the window when on road trips. It's enough of a problem that I now wear long sleeves and long pants if I'm going to be in the car for hours. I don't burn as fast as if I were sitting outside in the sun, but I absolutely burn.

As far as heat penetration goes, I also find myself adjusting the climate control depending on whether the sun is shining on me directly or if I'm shaded by the roof.
