Hey all - just took delivery of my 2022 MYLR. Black ext/white int, tow package (didn't want it but had it), 19 inch geminis (would rather 20 inch inductions for anyone who wants to trade) and so far I do love the car. I'm coming from an X5 and the seats are so much more comfortable it's not even comparable, so soft, cushy and supple! When going over the inspection list (which the delivery specialist seemed to be annoyed about almost) I discovered a bunch of little paint issues, scratches and 1 chip. They were able to buff out all but 2 scratches. 1 is nearly impossible to see and the other you can def see if you look. So I was faced with a decision which I feel is actually really messed up after PURCHASING a $70k car. She said "You can either leave the car with us and delay delivery for 5-7 days and we will send it to a body shop who will fix it" or "you can take delivery of the car and then pay for the fixes on your own dime" ... mind you, I have no car right now, they uber'd me there. I said "Can't I just take delivery of the car, you note this and then I'll bring it to the body shop myself, they can fix it etc." and she was adamant that they could not do that and acknowledged the scratch and basically said "it's their way or the highway..." Also, the car is absolutely filthy, they put a bunch of compound on but didn't bother actually cleaning it. Very disappointing.
I'm attaching the scratch in question here which is located by the rear right wheel, behind it on the back/side panel. I'm thinking about emailing Tesla or somehow escalating this but curious what you guys think/would do? Besides this, which did leave a sour taste in my mouth, I do really like the car and can see why so many people enjoy having it.
Thanks all!
