Keeping power on when parked, and not in driver seat

It's pretty simple....if I have my wife or other family members in the car and I want to park and run onto a store for a couple of things, I should be able to leave the radio, ac, etc on for the passengers. Why should that be hard?

Well, you are replying to a quote from over 5 years ago, so that's why it is hard. The car worked a lot differently back then. These days we have Dog mode and other ways to keep on the AC/heat as you may know.

I was in the passenger seat today and did a double tap on the screen (model X) power came on and stayed on. The driver had not entered the car yet. I did have the fob.
