Keyboard Pops Up On Browser When Using Google Maps

I have Google Maps in my browser favorites and whenever I select it, the map comes on and then the keyboard pops up covering half of the map. I have to find and then tap an empty spot on the map to get rid of it.

Is there a setting I can activate that will keep the keyboard hidden until I need to type something?

I think Google Maps might be sending the focus to the search box immediately when the page loads. That would trigger the keyboard since the browser thinks you want to type. If I'm right, I don't think there's much you can do.

You're probably right. I was thinking along the same lines. I was watching to see if the cursor was in the search box when the map came up but it wasn't; not that it would mean anything. In any case, it's just a minor annoyance I can live with. Thanks for your insight on this.
