Keyless Entry with Tech Package?

His question was WITHOUT the tech package. It will remain #1 forever in that case. At launch, those WITH the tech package will also have #1 and then eventually it will not require clicking the key fob - the handles will extend as you approach.

Doh! Misread that as "with the tech package" You're right!

Here is the response I received from Tesla Customer Support.

Thanks for reaching out. To clarify, with the tech package, the car will sense the presence of the key fob and you can touch the door handle so it can present itself.

Without the tech package, you must press or double press the unlock button and then touch the door handle so it can present itself.

We are working on the ability to have the handle present itself automatically if you have the tech package.

Technically all are keyless if you think of a "key" as a piece of metal with grooves in it.
