On my S I put some old screen door mesh up there to protect the radiator. Works great, only worth doing if you already have the bumper off first though.
But I have a nosecone the newer cars have much less open surface area that needs protection

For my Model 3, I easily found an AC intake grill to stop leaves and what not getting in, and also a front bumper intake mesh for the same purpose. For the Plaid, which has the same "issues", there are no solutions. How come?
I added a piece of peel and stick weatherstrip above the AC grille towards the windshield.
It doesn't affect the heating or cooling.

A also duct taped up the hinge pockets for noise reduction.

I made a cover for the frunk out of 2" insulation to go over my tire kit.

Press fit with Velcro straps

I am not saying it is not functional, but it looks atrocious 😆

a lot of us use these, it also keeps water out and still allows good flow.

So one solved.
On my M3P I had this installed: https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005...t_main.75.632018022D10fe&gatewayAdapt=glo2vnm
Keeps all the gonk from getting between the radiators which from what I`ve seen cleaning is a pretty time consuming operation. Gotta find a fix for the S as well.
