r1200, I've got a 1/20 dated car with a 642010 VIN. So, it might not be that your VIN is lower. The person at Tesla promised she'd follow up with me tonight so I'll post more if I hear anything.
Thanks. This will be interesting to find out. When I got my car it had 13 miles. Tires looked like they had several hundred because all the new tire little tits were gone and thread was very worn to the touch. Look forward to your reply from tesla

Just heard back from the Tesla Customer Service folks. Their reply was that based on my VIN I had the right version of firmware. So, I guess we just wait. For what it's worth, I did get the sense that the rep checked with someone on this. I don't think it was simply a canned response. Obviously, it's disappointing but I figure I'll give it a week or two and see what happens.

Took delivery on 2/14 and also stuck on 2019.35.106 . Called customer service and she confirmed it's old but also that there was nothing available for her to push to it. Scheduled a service appt (Feb 25 earliest avail) and shortly thereafter, received a text from svc ctr. (see attachment) Still no further response after 30 mins, so not really expecting to hear anything else from them.

Over on teslafi, looks like all (12 of) the cars on 2019.35.106 have less than 1000 miles on them, so looks like we're in good company.

I’m in the exact same boat. Some folks were saying that it takes a couple weeks for the car to be added to a database or something. But your guess is as good as mine.

My new P3D+ with FSD has version 2019.35.106 f83b666. I have switched to Advanced but it is showing up-to-date.I'm connected to my Wi-Fi and have an access point in my garage specifically for the cars. I've even tried the much-disputed holding the Advanced button, or hitting it 5 times - but that does absolutely nothing. Any insight as to why I don't have a 2020 version? I think that I'm missing the latest camp mode and FSD HW version. Not sure what else...
I just picked up my model 3 March 06 , has version 2019.35.108.....

I had difficulty getting updates. Car got "glitchy". Tesla tried to push the update to no avail. Scheduled a service appointment. The tech told me that they had to disconnect the battery and discharge the capacitors before it would take the update. I have had no issues since. BTW ours is a 2019 model 3 stealth.

Delivery on 3/12 with 2019.35.108.

Purchased the Acceleration Boost upgrade.

Car shows the upgrade but the settings page still only shows Standard and Chill.

Threads here show that 2019.40 or later is required to enable the upgrade.

Called Support and got a generic “give it 24 hours.”

Still no luck. 48 hour refund window will expire before it actually gets activated.

I have Homelink install set up for 3/19 maybe the technician can ensure it is updated by then.

Tesla shouldn’t allow upgrade purchase if the car’s current firmware won’t support it.

I think they intentionally delay SW upgrades after purchase to help build the the owners comfort level with the vehicle, before it starts changing. I experienced something similar when I picked up my Model 3 even through it was built months before.

I got my M3 LR AWD on 3/19. Has the same version as the OP. But thanks to this thread, I will have patience in the process.

Not sure if there is truth in the statement, “...Tesla does this intentionally for new owners...”, but I like to think so. ;^) Thank you for starting this thread.

I forgot to mention that I also purchased FSD. I’m not in a rush, just calling out that on day 6, I still have the same release version.

Okay, late on 3/24 I received the update to 2020.8.2. I am also pleased to note that my 90% charge is now 289 miles, which projects to a 322 mile charge at 100%. On 2019.35 it was 279/310. I know we’re talking 10-12 hypothetical miles, but it is just nice to see the value of a Tesla and OTA updates.

Of course text messaging and other features came out between these two versions.
