Leviton or Vista parts?

Hi everyone,

I read in the other thread about melting outlets where leviton parts were used and found to be a potential factor. I have a scheduled appointment next for my electrician to come by to do install my NEMA 14-50 outlet and mentioned the potential melt down using leviton parts. He offered to use vista parts if I like, but from googling I could not find any info.

Does anyone know about the quality of vista parts vs leviton parts?

Thanks!

Leviton is fine if installed property. The incident you mentioned was due to improper installation. I just put in a Leviton 14-30 plug and noticed one of the hot-line screws was VERY tight before it even made contact with the copper wire. This is probably what happened in the melt-down incident... the electrician probably felt considerable resistance with the screw and figured it had made good contact with the copper wire, when in fact it didn't make contact at all, causing a bad connection.
