So I'm probably the LAST person here to find this out, but I drove over to Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ yesterday and paid the $7 parking fee and what did I spy? Eight 30 Amp charging stations under a canopy with Solar panels on top! To top it off, it was free! Not a bad place to be if you're commuting from points outside the city and need a place to park/charge while in NY because there is a light rail station attached tot he parking lot that can take you to Manhattan.
Inside the Science Center is a display showing how much energy the center is consuming, and how much is being sourced from each solar array and windmill installation in real-time. Very neat!
Thought I'd share.
